| It begins at the top, with the Carriage Cab Company founder. Simon Garber who knows what it takes to run a cab company from the bottom up. Simon Garber started driving a taxi part-time in college and later bought his first two cabs in New York City, where he now owns 400 taxis. He later expanded to Moscow and Chicago where he is the largest individual operator with 900 cabs. Chicago has an elite fleet of distinctive maroon taxis, each a brand new stretch version of the Ford Crown Victoria with extra rear leg room, plush interior, and passenger operated rear climate control. He offers his drivers incentives plus added chauffeur-style training, attracting the most experienced and best in the city. He established a welcoming new taxi headquarters, complete with a driver’s lounge and recreation facilities.
